BETHEL MURAL PROJECT
"We Go Together, We Grow Together"
The Bethel Mural Project is a community, public art installation at The Gem, 48 Cross St, Bethel, Maine. This past winter, the Bethel Mural Project and Maine artist, Ryan Adams, worked with Melissa Prescott’s Telstar Middle School Community Art classes to come up with inspiration for the design of the mural. The students then voted on the wording for the design. The final design layout and palette for the upcoming mural will be announced soon!

Ryan Adams, a painter and muralist resides in his hometown of Portland, Maine
with fellow artist wife, Rachel Gloria and their two daughters. His background in traditional graffiti led him to creating large-scale mural work and hand-lettered design and signage.
His signature ‘gem’ style of work is a geometric breakdown of letterforms with shadows and highlights included to create depth and movement throughout the pieces (seen below). His pieces tend to be bold, colorful and clever; often including statements within. Currently,
Ryan co-owns and operates a hand-painted signage business, designs for a brewery,
paints murals any and everywhere and exhibits his work as often as possible.

As a community-based project, The Bethel Mural Project needed many volunteers
to help. We had over 130 volunteers participate in this amazing mural by painting, providing food and cold drinks, and generally showing their support by showing up.
Thank you!

The Bethel Mural Project would not be possible without the
help of these generous supporters
